I have a Virus!!!

Well, Benny contacted me regarding a virus on his computer. I could not remote in due to his connection not working, so he dropped the PC off with me. Boy was this a nasty PC Virus. It was one of those new ones, The kind that portrays itself as an anti-virus. I was battling that sucker for two days. Long story short, the name of the Virus was Palladium. The only way to get rid of it was to do an extensive cleaning in the registry. The good thing is, the virus is gone and Benny is happy again.

I made a music cd, but it will only play on my computer.

My customer Benny had an issue regarding music burned to a CD-R. Benny calls me and goes on about his music CD only being able to play on his computer. I asked him what format he burned them as. His reply was, I don't Know. I already knew what his issue was. He burned the files as MP3's which will not play on a standard CD Player. I had Benny insert the disc into his media drive and explored its contents. I was right he burned them as MP3's. The only burning software he had was Windows Media Player and the built in "Burn Files To Disc" option. So, I remotely logged into Benny's machine and ran him through the process of burning the disc in the proper CDA format. Was he happy with the end results, of course he was.

Outlook eMail

Yesterday I got a call from my friend William.
"Roger, I have MS Outlook on my computer and was told that I can link or sync my GMail account with it. Is this true? If so, can you set it up for me?"

I told William the following:
William, Yes. It is possible to sync your GMail account with MS Outlook. It will only take me a few minutes. All I need is some info from your email provider. This info is available to you at the options/settings/preferences area of your email account. William said, Great lets do it. I told him fine and also told him that if he had other email accounts, I could sync those as well. He undoubtedly said, Lets do that too.

So William logged into his IM Acct and requested help from me. I connected remotely and had him all set up in 10 minutes.
